Calligraphia Japan prides itself with having some of the top calligraphers in Japan as its calligraphy teachers, with everyone having a proven track record throughout the calligraphy scene in Japan.
Thank you for choosing Calligraphia, a penmanship and calligraphy class, from among the many available options. My name is Taiga Uehira, the representative of this class.
Our teaching approach is based on theoretical clarity, ensuring that the material is easy to understand while prioritizing enjoyment and engagement. When learning is fun, students are motivated to delve deeper and study more seriously. We aim to create an environment where students can achieve spontaneous and intrinsic learning.
One of our distinctive features is the wide range of content we offer, from beginner-level material to advanced calligraphy. We are here to help you improve your handwriting, so let’s work hard together!
It wasn’t until my late twenties that I first encountered calligraphy.
I initially planned to learn penmanship to improve my handwriting a bit, but by also studying brush calligraphy, I discovered its profound depth.
As I became more captivated by calligraphy, more than ten years passed.
By continuing to practice, my world has expanded, and the enjoyment has increased.
I hope to share this charm of calligraphy with you.

Calligraphy Teacher
I grew up left-handed.
When I started learning calligraphy around the age of thirteen, I practiced extensively with both large and small brushes and eventually switched to being right-handed.
I still use my left hand primarily for writing with ballpoint pens and pencils.
For those who are left-handed, I can offer advice, so please feel free to ask!
I strive to convey the joy and culture of calligraphy, feeling excited about the growth reflected in the characters that can only be written at that moment in time.
Since I was a child, I have loved writing, and with a strong desire to live my life in this field, I have been honing my skills daily. This led to the establishment of Seisho Calligraphy Association in 1994. Our association is guided by two main principles: mastering practical calligraphy skills recognized by all and creating modern works rooted in classical traditions. We have developed numerous calligraphy classes, primarily in Osaka City. As of 2024, we have around 2,000 students ranging from young children to adults. In recent years, we have added a new directive: “Calligraphy to the World and Future,” and have been actively engaged in live calligraphy performances and workshops overseas.
At Seisho Calligraphy Association, we support those who share similar dreams. Whether you want to learn calligraphy, perform, teach, create store logos, or obtain calligraphy works, we cater to all genres related to calligraphy. Our mission is to convey the beauty of calligraphy to as many people as possible.
